Retirement can be a daunting and intimidating process. We are here to help you with our 20+ years of experience working with educators.

If you are thinking about retiring in:

0-1 years:

If you are retiring in the next year, you should probably call us. You need to call TRS and get a retirement estimate packet for the time you are planning on leaving, such as May 2021 or Dec 2. Then you need to look at your budget. What do you spend every month? You need to look at your take home pay now versus what the take home pay will be after retirement. It is possible that you find out that you must work longer. It is better to know before you retire than after you retire. We will help you with estimating your retirement and making a comparison of before and after retirement. We will consider any 403(b) or 457 plans that you currently have. These can be used for income. If you are eligible for the Partial Lump Sum Option (PLSO), we will help you decide if it is right for you.

1-5 years:

You have more time to look at the above. We can help you determine any shortfall in income so you may adjust your monthly 403(b) contributions accordingly. You can look at the PLSO options and pre-determine your plan of action.

5+ years:

We make sure you are contributing sufficient funds in a 403(b) to supplement your retirement income. We help you with determining the year that you want to retire and making sure you get the benefits that are yours. We can also help with budgeting and debt.
